At Pioneer Broach we have solved the problem
of inconsistent tooth forms by employing state-of-the-art
Computer Numerically Controlled creep-feed grinding
machines.
Near perfect (.00008) tolerances are held utilizing CBN(Cubic
Boron Nitride) plated metal wheel forms, along with high
pressure heavy coolants. This process produces consistent
tooth gullet forms without the heat and friction generated
by conventional grinding. Broaches manufactured at Pioneer
Broach in this manner are specified as "CNC Qualified".
The benefits of these broaches include superior
workpiece surface finish, accuracy and longer tool life. In keeping
with our philosophy of finding a "better way" to
manufacture, we have developed unique application software
enabling us to grind complex broach forms on our "CNC" grinders.
These forms include Involute Spline, Fir Tree, Dovetail
Root, Cam, Rifling and many others. Our "CNC" Broach
Grinding Department consists of (4) 4-axis broach grinders
and our most recent addition - a Walter 6-axis Heli-Center
BG grinding machine. Pioneer Broach Co. currently
operates among the largest "CNC" broach grinding
departments in the U.S.A.
